Amitabh Bachchan was born on October 11, 1942 in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. He is a renowned Indian film actor. He is immensely popular, in the Indian sub-continent and the Middle-East, due to his acting style and also his signature voice. He has been constantly voted as one of the top actors in the Indian film industry. He is the winner of best actor award in 3 different decades and is one of the few Indian actors enjoying international fame, as indicated by his
statue being in Madame Tussauds wax museum in London.
As usual there was a huge crowd of reporters, journalists, public and fans outside his bungalow in Juhu "Pratiksha" early in the morning today. The crowd went totally bersek as soon as the big B made an appearance outside to greet his fans and have a word. So much so, that things got a little ugly as there was a lot of jostling and the women journalists were molested in the whole affair.
Dozens of other fans in his home town, Allahbad,lit firecrackers and danced on streets alongside Bachchan's posters to wish their hero a happy birthday and offered prayers for his good health and happiness.
Apparently, Amitabh wanted a very low key affair and tried to evade the public. But, being a superstar of his caliber, he just cannot escape from it, can he? Well, it's tough being a superstar.
