Eklavya Gets Oscar Entry
Eklavya gets Oscar entry. They are very few movies in the industry which have got a chance to enter the Oscars and Eklavya has made it this time. Though the movie didn’t do well in India but it has got an entry to the Oscar’s.There were many other good movies that could have been nominated instead!)The movie depicts a violent family saga starring Amitabh Bachchan, and has been nominated as India’s official entry for Oscar award for the best foreign movie category.
This is the third time that a film by Vidhu Vinod Chopra will be going to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Earlier his short non-fiction film ‘An Encounter with Faces’ was one of the first Indian films to be nominated for an Oscar in 1980. In 1989, Parinda was sent to the Oscars as India’s official entry. This definitely is not one of his best films!
