Aishwarya Rai Bachchan gave birth to a baby girl last month, much to the delight of the entire Bachchan family. At last all speculations as to her pregnancy and the baby were put to a rest. The delivery took place at the Seven Hills hospital in Marol, Mumbai. Amitabh tweeted as a proud grandfather, "I AM DADA to the cutest baby girl !!" Later in the day, Abhishek, the proud father thanked everyone for all the prayers and good wishes for the mother and baby. "Both Aishwarya and the baby are doing great and taking some much needed rest....And I'm trying my level best to get rid of this caffeine high and get some sleep too. Don't think it'll work. Along with the photograph, Amitabh has tweeted: "Many claim that they have the picture of the baby from the net .. Ladies and gentlemen let me present you some follies ...This the picture that is being circulated .. a fake and morphed. and this is the original from where it was morphed .. my team did a stupendous job in finding it". In an earlier statement, Amitabh had expressed his displeasure over the issue, stating it was wrong to circulate such photographs as it was a personal matter for the family.

There are huge bids for the first pictures of the baby girl by the media who are vying to be the first to bag these most coveted pictures. And apparently Mr Big B himself has made it quite clear that Beti B's pictures would not be revealed so soon. According to rumors the foreign media is trying to get hold of this big exclusive and have even offered the family a substantial sum of money running into crores.So sorry guys, looks like we won't be seeing those "baby blue" eyes anytime soon!

Now we are all curious to know what the baby girl is going to be named. The naming ceremony will be held around Christmas this year, according to some news sources the Bachchan family is holding a very private naming ceremony at Pratiksha. The song "Why this Kolaveri Di" sung by the Tamil actor Dhanush for his upcoming movie 3 suddenly became a huge hit on the internet and elsewhere, especially among the youth making it viral. The song was leaked on the net and as a result was officially released as a single track that created quite a stir with people talking about it and sharing it on all social mediums. Can you imagine that a nonsensical song like this captured the imagination of the nation and garnered more than 11 million views on Youtube? This is now the question that is being asked everywhere - Why This Kolaveri Di?

According to a news site, "Kolaveri Di' means murderous rage and now it is popular even in other parts of the country. It is actually used to put off a cranky person in a group. The slang has been used by the makers of '3' to depict the anguish of a person who has just tasted rejection from the hands of a girl whom he liked."

The song has become a hit among the millions of students and youngsters who hang around the various college campuses in Tamil Nadu and has gone viral on social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and the video sharing Youtube.

The song has created quite a stir, no doubt, some for the right reasons and some for the wrong reasons. For example, while certain top movie stars like Abhishek Bachchan and Rajnikanth went gaga over the song there were others like the lyricist, poet and scriptwriter - Javed Akhtar who is not impressed with it and tweeted the following, "KOLAVARI-D". Every one is praising the robes but the emporer is naked. Tune ordinary ,singing substandard.words an insult to sensibility.(sic)".

Another Bangladeshi author also shared similar sentiments and tweeted, "Why does da stupid thingy Kolaveri di bcm popular in India,a country rich in its musical heritage?Anarchism or the hidden hippies coming out.(sic)"

I must say that I agree with his sentiments, specially after listening to the melodious tunes of Dev Anand songs a day after his sad demise, this particular song would have made anyone turn in his grave. I wonder if poor Dev Saab was the victim of this song, as a person of his caliber and the music that he has given us, it would definitely have given him a cardiac arrest.

I really can't fathom what's so great about this song other than the fact that it's got a catchy tune. Is that all that's really required to make a song popular these days? I am begining to think that people don't actually listen to the lyrics of a song anymore, which is kind of sad!

A Tribute to DEV ANAND - The Evergreen Romantic Hero of Indian Cinema

DEV ANAND was undoubtedly and unarguably the epitome of romance in Indian cinema who became - a legend and a star with great zest for life and cinema. Who can ever forget him? Dev Anand breathed his last yesterday morning at a hotel in London where he had gone for a short holiday with his family. He suffered a cardiac arrest in his sleep in the wee hours of the morning and quietly passed away. He was 88. 

The name Dev Anand always brings to mind all the romantic songs of the era and I consider myself fortunate to have been a part of that era of romance. We grew up humming the melodious songs of his films that were full of promise, life and hope. I have watched most of his films and loved his unique style of swagger and acting. There was always something that we could carry away with us in all his films. 

Recently, one of his old time hits "Hum Dono" was released in color in all the theaters and I couldn't resist the urge to go watch the film. I dragged my husband (who likes fast action films mostly) to a late night show of the film and enjoyed every bit of it! The opening song "Abhi na Jao Chodkar" has always been a personal favorite and watching it in color (beauty of Sadhana and Dev Anand) set the mood for the rest of the movie. Although it seemed a little slow as compared to the fast paced movies of today's generation, it was still a treat to sit back and enjoy the songs and see Dev Anand in a double role on the silver screen after ages. It was definitely worth watching and am glad that Dev Anand did not agree for a remake of any of his old hits, like so many other movies are being targeted. There just cannot be another Dev Anand!

Deepika Padukone, as we are all aware by now, is the daughter of the former world badminton champion - Prakash Padukone. Deepika grew up to be a model turned actress with her debut film Om Shanti Om opposite Shah Rukh Khan. She had great dreams to make it big in the industry. Since her first film, she has been a hot sensation. She has been involved with Ranbir Kapoor and had a breakup, which was all over the media as everyone speculated about what went wrong. Hmm..but our svelt actres has moved on to higher pastures, should we say, going around with Sidharth Mallya, the son of liquor baron Vijay Mallya. No wonder she is the brand ambassador of their IPL team Bangalore.

The latest news is of the forthcoming film "Aarakshan" starring Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Saif Ali Khan. Directed by Prakash Jha, the film is on India's most controversial subjects, that of "reservations". The film portrays a Dalit student leader (Saif Ali Khan) and apparently the film was first panned by the Dalit groups even before its release for being anti-Dalit. Now the upper caste groups of Rajasthan are also joining the protest, as are various political groups in Maharastra too. The film Promos apparently frayed a lot of tempers across the country, with Jaipur being the latest to join in. Posters are being burned and threats are being issued against the screening of the film by a pressure group called Karni Sena. (You find all kinds of groups these days!)

 

"This (reservation) was something that was of great interest to me. I kept watching it and observing it and kept seeing the drama unfold and all the repercussions - the commercialisation of education," says Jha.  

Well, controversies are good publicity for these stars and starlets, isn't it? To add more mirch masala to her life, Karan Johar is now planning to bring Deepika and Ranbir together again in his next untitled film, produced under his banner Dharma Productions and to be directed by Ayan Mukherji. Apparently, Katrina was the first choice for the role, but due to the clash of dates couldn't do it and so Deepika agreed to accept the role. Coincidentally, Katrina was or is Ranbir's next after his breakup with Deepika. But I think they looked kinda cute together, don't you think so?

"The tattoo which was creating trouble for the beautiful Dam Maro Dum song actress Deepika Padukone proved to be a blessing in disguise. This actress who was had tattooed the name of her ex boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor on the nape of her neck was questioned about it time and again when they broke up.

There were rumors that she had even removed it but everyone’s mouth was shut when she confirmed its presence on the Koffee with Karan show. Salman Khan's "Bodyguard" Unveiled Movie Trailer and More

Trust Salman Khan to always do things in great style and pomp. He manages to steal the limelight and get huge box office hits whatever he does. This time he is ready once again to hit the screens with his latest venture, "Bodyguard". The movie is inspired by his own bodyguards and as a tribute he is all set to get his personal bodyguard, Shera, to launch the theatrical trailer of his bumper Eid release. In fact, this time he wants all the focus and attention to be on his personal bodyguard, Shera. Is this his way of showing gratitude to the person who was always ready to give up his life to protect Salman, his idol and mentor? Apparently, yes!

It was his bodyguard who introduced the much-awaited theatrical trailer of his action-packed extravaganza at the launch function held recently. “It’s a very symbolic gesture. After all, Shera has been Salman’s bodyguard for several years now. Also, it fits in with the film’s line of communication perfectly,” says Priti Shahani of Reliance Pictures, Bodyguard’s co-producer.

Speaking of this film, Salman had apparently turned down an offer of Rs 7 crore to wear a security company’s uniform in the film, opting instead for Shera's brand. He had been approached by several security agencies to use their uniforms in his film. So, get ready to see the return of Salman Khan yet again on the big screen with "Bodyguard" on Eid. Most of his latest films have been huge box office hits.

This latest Bollywood movie ‘Bodyguard’ directed by Siddique, stars Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor, is a remake of a Malayalam film with the same name, which is also being remade in Tamil. In the film, Salman will be seen wearing the dark grey uniform of Shera’s company with Tiger on his name tag.

Our Sallu Bhai being how he is, recently got into a fight with Bunty Walia at Maanyata's birthday bash. Seems like history repeats itself with Salman, as three years ago he had a similar fight at Katrina's bash. According to news reports, on thursday night Sanjay Dutt threw a lavish birthday bash for his beloved wife, Maanyata where he invited only his close friends were invited. Salman Khan and Bunty Walia were present, too. 

Apparently, Salman walked in around 2 am and greeted everyone. He then bumped into Bunty Walia. Unfortunately for Bunty, Salman was already in pretty high spirits and so he started arguing with the filmmaker, which got louder by and by. The argument soon reached the stage where they started hurling abuses at one another and they had to be separated by Dharam Oberoi, who intervened at the right moment before things could get out of hand. He took Bunty away. 

The host Sanjay Dutt was nowhere to be seen during this incident, as he had just gone out to drop one of the guests home.

A source informed, “Bunty Walia and Salman’s brother Sohail Khan were business partners at one point in time.However, after Bunty and Sohail went their separate ways, all has not been well between the Khan clan and Bunty. In fact, Salman and Bunty had got into a fight before as well.”

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara - Movie Review, Official Trailer and Songs

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is a movie directed by Zoya Akhtar, which seems to have been inspired mostly by Farhan Akhtar's iconic "Dil Chahta Hai". I saw the movie today after hearing great reviews and feedback from all who watched it. Well, I must say that I was not disappointed, specially after watching a series of other not so great and flop films. This came as a pleasant entertainer with lots of action, humor, drama and scenic beauty to thrill your senses.

Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan and Abhay Deol look absolutely dashing in their roles as Imran, Arjun and Kabir respectively. Katrina Kaif and Kalki add to the glamor quotient as the female presence in the movie. Most of the movie is shot in Spain, after the initial quick introductions are over just before the title and star cast of the movie is displayed. We are taken on an incredible road trip in the exotic locales of Spain covering beaches, mountains, beautiful countryside, and even the narrow residential streets within the interiors of the country. You can just sit back and enjoy this breathtaking beauty of the country. It never ceases to amaze me how one can find such empty stretches of roads with no other traffic on the road at all, or even any sign of life or another human being? The movie revolves around these three characters who go on a bachelor trip together to enjoy and have fun just before one of them is set to get married. They indulge in heart thumping and adrenalin pumping adventure sports activities like sky diving, deep sea diving and getting chased by the famous Spanish bull. These scenes are great visual treats. Also one gets to see the local Tomatino festival of the place, where they have lots of fun throwing and getting smeared in squashed tomatoes.

Of course, a bollywood movie would be incomplete without its music, and that has been added with a lot of zest and energy with tracks lilting to the Spanish beats by the Shankar-Ehsan-Loy trio. They have done a great job with the music and songs that are bound to be a hit in the chart busters. As if the music was not enough, there is also enough poetry by Javed Akhtar throughout the movie, which adds to the emotional and sentimental quotient of the movie.

All in all a complete entertainer. A movie worth watching whether you are young or old and even with your family. I would rate it as a 4star and a must watch.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan voted as the most beautiful woman married Abhishek Bachchan in 2007. The marriage made waves all over the internet as the media was not allowed to cover the event and there was a mad rush to get exclusive pictures or videos to the event. Well, soon after her much talked about marriage and honeymoon, the public awaited the good news of her pregnancy.

After a long pregnant pause, during which she was busy concentrating her efforts on the movie making business, her advertisement contracts, Hollywood movie contracts and what not, she has finally gone and done it....Yes, the news was confirmed by the doting father-in-law himself. 

“I am going to become a grandfather … Aishwarya expecting. So happy and thrilled!!!” Bachchan said, confirming the subject of weeks of speculation." Aishwarya Rai’s media manager confirmed the pregnancy on June 21st but did not give more details. She is now 37 years old and is not working on any movies except "Heroine", a project by Madhur Bhandarkar.It has been more than four years now since the couple have been fending off starting a family.

It's all over the internet now...her pregnancy news and photographers trying desperately to spot her bulge...What is this obsession with the people to see women get pregnant or should I say celebrities? Does it sort of satisfy their ego to see them in this "out of shape" form for once, just to feel more human, is my guess. Or does it give some kind of perverse pleasure in seeing them this way or hoping to catch them at their worst? Like a bad hair day! Oh..no..they always seem to look their best and beautiful at any time of the day!
